Nusavoxmedia.id – Cristiano Ronaldo kembali meraih penghargaan individu pada penghujung tahun 2025. Megabintang asal Portugal itu dinobatkan sebagai Best Player of the Year in the Middle East dalam ajang Globe Soccer Awards 2025 yang digelar di Dubai, Senin (29/12) dini hari WIB.
Penghargaan tersebut menjadi pengakuan atas konsistensi Ronaldo bersama Al Nassr sepanjang tahun kalender 2025. Gala tahunan edisi ke-16 itu dihadiri sejumlah pemain, presiden klub, dan agen ternama dari berbagai negara.
Ronaldo menjadi pusat perhatian saat naik ke panggung menerima trofi. Dalam suasana santai, ia sempat melontarkan candaan ketika mikrofon di depannya terlihat terlalu rendah.
“Ini untuk orang-orang yang sederhana,” ujar Ronaldo, yang langsung disambut tawa para tamu undangan.
Pada kesempatan yang sama, Ronaldo juga menyerahkan Globe Sports Award kepada petenis legendaris Novak Djokovic. Atlet asal Serbia itu mengaku terkejut sekaligus terhormat menerima penghargaan dari Ronaldo.
“Ini benar-benar kejutan. Menerima penghargaan dari legenda olahraga lain seperti Cristiano adalah mimpi yang menjadi kenyataan. Saya penggemar berat sepak bola,” kata Djokovic.
Ronaldo membalas pujian tersebut dengan menyebut Djokovic sebagai teladan dalam dunia olahraga.
“Bagi saya, Novak Djokovic adalah sebuah teladan. Ia menjadi contoh ketahanan dan konsistensi. Kami memiliki kisah yang mirip, dan ia pantas menerima penghargaan ini karena memberi inspirasi bagi generasi sekarang dan yang akan datang,” ujar Ronaldo.
Sepanjang 2025, Ronaldo mencatatkan 40 gol dalam satu tahun kalender, yang menjadi kali ke-14 ia mencapai angka tersebut sepanjang karier profesionalnya. Secara keseluruhan, ia kini telah mengoleksi 956 gol dan terus mendekati target 1.000 gol.
Dalam pidato penerimaan penghargaan, Ronaldo mengakui tuntutan fisik yang semakin berat seiring bertambahnya usia. Namun, ia menegaskan motivasinya tetap kuat.
“Sulit bagi saya untuk terus bermain, tetapi hasrat saya terhadap permainan ini lebih kuat. Saya ingin terus bermain dengan semangat yang sama, meraih trofi, dan mencetak gol,” katanya.
Ronaldo juga menyampaikan apresiasi kepada keluarga dan orang-orang terdekat yang selalu mendukung kariernya.
“Gala ini salah satu favorit saya karena saya bertemu banyak orang luar biasa, terutama istri saya yang selalu mendukung, juga anak-anak, orang tua, dan rekan setim,” ujarnya.
Globe Soccer Awards pertama kali digelar pada 2010 dan rutin diselenggarakan di Dubai sebagai ajang penghargaan sepak bola dengan fokus kawasan Timur Tengah. Pada usia 40 tahun, Ronaldo kembali membuktikan bahwa dirinya masih mampu tampil konsisten dan kompetitif di level tertinggi.
